Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive jobs in Benton Harbor, MI

Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients that have abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors, or disease. Performs surgery to improve functions and to approximate a normal appearance. Being a Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice.     QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY
    MINIMUM EDUCATION
    M.D. or D.O. degree and completed an ACGME- or AOA-accredited program of postgraduate specialty training

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Completion of a primary course in aerospace medicine
    • Must possess an aeronautical rating of Flight Surgeon, Senior Flight Surgeon or Chief Flight Surgeon
    • Completion of a residency at a fully accredited residency program
    • Minimum 12 months of experience as a flight surgeon (Aerospace Medicine Specialist only)
    • Board eligible in Aerospace Medicine (Aerospace Medicine Specialist only)
    • Completion of 5.5-week Officer Training School course
    • Must be between the ages of 18 and 48
