Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients that have abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors, or disease. Performs surgery to improve functions and to approximate a normal appearance. Being a Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice.     Job Summary:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pre-Admission Testing Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Pre-Admission Testing Nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient pre-operative assessment of patients prior to their scheduled surgeries or procedures. This individual will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, obtaining patient medical histories, performing necessary tests and screenings, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

    Responsibilities:

    Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments of patients scheduled for surgery.
    Obtain detailed medical histories, including current medications, allergies, and past medical/surgical history.
    Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate pre-operative preparations and interventions.
    Provide education to patients and their families regarding the pre-operative process, including instructions for medications, fasting guidelines, and post-operative care.
    Assess and address any potential risk factors or complications that may impact the patient's surgical experience.
    Ensure all necessary pre-operative documentation and consents are obtained and accurately documented.
    Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions and documentation.
    Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices within the pre-admission testing process.
    Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to streamline processes and enhance the overall patient experience.
    Stay updated on current evidence-based practices, guidelines, and regulations related to pre-operative care and testing.

    Qualifications:

    Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Kentucky.
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    Minimum of 4 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in perioperative or pre-admission testing settings.
    Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) or pre-operative nursing (CPAN) preferred.
    Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to interpret diagnostic test results preferred.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
    Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer skills.
    Commitment to providing patient-centered care and ensuring patient safety.
    Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and adapt to changing situations.
    Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to stand for extended periods and move about the facility as needed.
    Ability to lift and maneuver equipment and assist with patient positioning as required.
    Visual and auditory acuity to assess patients and interpret diagnostic findings.
    Manual dexterity to perform nursing procedures and use medical equipment.
