Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients that have abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors, or disease. Performs surgery to improve functions and to approximate a normal appearance. Being a Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. The division of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is recruiting an advanced practice provider to join our growing team. Our new PA/ARNP will aid two full-time pediatric plastic surgeons in patient care along with our current ARNP. Duties will include evaluating patient in outpatient clinics and inpatient consults, participating in multidisciplinary cleft/craniofacial and vascular anomalies clinics, responding to patient communications, assisting with care coordination, and assisting in the operating room. We are looking for a motivated individual who enjoys a wide spectrum of clinical problem solving, teamwork, and excellent patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current Florida State Licensure as a APRN, PA
• Clinical Master's Degree in Nursing or DNP for APRNs or Masters in Physician Assistant studies
• Current BLS and/ or PALS
• Current National Certification as a: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care, PA
