Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients that have abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors, or disease. Performs surgery to improve functions and to approximate a normal appearance. Being a Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Be extremely friendly and have excellent phone and text communication skills!
- Primary person to answer incoming calls
- Forward calls appropriately
- Respond to website inquiries expediently (assisted by OM)
- Knowledge of all services (surgeries / products)
- Patient Scheduling – Confirm new and returning patients.
- Patient Check-in / Check-out
- Patient intake paperwork (review/upload)
- Scan documentation
- Be able to discuss and obtain signatures for all consents and policies (photo / payment policies (cosmetic and insurance) / revision policy / cosmetic insurance policy, etc)
- Assist Practice Manager / Nurse with Patient surgery navigation
- All scanning / filing / faxing
- Shredding of documents
- Manage and Organize new patient charts / patient handouts / consents / Business cards
- Assist Practice Manager with patient payments (copays / cosmetic consult fees / POS purchases), and deposit in safe per protocol.
- Ensure waiting room is clean and presentable throughout day
- Assist Practice Manager with Management and Organization of Front Office Supplies
- Log Deliveries and Forward to appropriate recipient
