Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients that have abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors, or disease. Performs surgery to improve functions and to approximate a normal appearance. Being a Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice.   • The Department of Plastic Surgery at Loma Linda University in Southern California is seeking a board eligible/board certified plastic surgeon to join our group because of unprecedented growth in our region.

    A qualified candidate will be ABPS board-certified or board-eligible, having completed residency training in an accredited plastic surgery training program. We have opportunities for surgeons interested in multiple adult subspecialty areas including hand surgery, microsurgery, as well as breast reconstruction. Additional subspecialty fellowship training in hand, breast microsurgery, or microsurgery is anticipated. We are looking for someone with excellent clinical skills and an interest in research and innovation, along with an interest in teaching. The surgeon will be a fulltime faculty member of our Faculty Medical Group, contributing to the education of both medical students and our integrated plastic surgery residents and may perform the full spectrum of our specialty.

    The plastic surgery residency program at Loma Linda University was one of the five original integrated residency programs approved in 1995. It has enjoyed continuous accreditation since inception.

    Compensation & Benefits

    The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $410,000 – $531,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
