Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients that have abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors, or disease. Performs surgery to improve functions and to approximate a normal appearance. Being a Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice.     Key Responsibilities:
    • Accurately transcribe the details of patient visits and procedures as dictated by the plastic surgeon.
    • Enter medical information into electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring that all data is current and precise.
    • Manage patient flow by communicating with medical staff and coordinating schedules.
    • Assist in the preparation of medical documents, such as consent forms and procedure notes.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
    • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation processes.

    Qualifications:
    • Excellent listening and typing skills with a keen attention to detail.
    • Prior experience in a medical scribing or similar role is preferred.
    • Familiarity with medical terminology, especially related to plastic surgery.
    • Proficiency in using EHR systems and other medical software.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
    • Commitment to delivering high-quality support to healthcare professionals and patients.

    Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Pre-medical or health sciences background is advantageous.

    Work Hours & Benefits:
    - This part-time position requires a flexible schedule, with emphasis on being present on every Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
