    Position Summary:

    Medical Assisting- This position will have direct patient care including reviewing medication lists, performing vitals, dressing changes, wound care, suture/staple removal and room turnover.
    The incumbent provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates multiple patient care activities for physician practices. Responsible for greeting incoming patients and visitors and relaying incoming telephone calls and messages in a professional manner.

    Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Opens the office at the designated time each day and ensures the readiness of the reception area, and that the front desk activities are fully operational.
    • Answer multi-line telephone system, take accurate messages, screen and direct telephone calls to the appropriate person in an efficient manner.
    • Politely greet and identify patients and visitors as they enter the office and obtain additional patient information as needed. Communicate unexpected delays when necessary.
    • Collect copays at time of office visits in accordance with the patient’s insurance plan.
    • Review patient charts to ensure proper documentation and information are enclosed in accordance with the practice guidelines.
    • Acquire necessary medical records and documents for patient charts by communicating via telephone, facsimile or in person with other office locations or office personnel.
    • Maintains a neat and organized front office and waiting room.
    • Schedule patients for appointments and “re-call” appointments in an efficient and productive manner.
    • Generate clinical summaries and distribute to patients for all office visits.
    • Adhere to all HIPAA regulation guidelines at all times.
    • Receive payments from patients for services rendered and reconcile daily deposits.
    • Scan patient paperwork into the appropriate sections within the patient chart.
    • Enter financial transactions and miscellaneous correspondence in computer.
    • Provide daily confirmation of upcoming patient appointments.
    • Prepare medical records requests received from patients and attorneys.
    • Make copies, fax documents, and shred documents as needed throughout the day.
    • Monitor and order inventory office supplies and items needed for front desk operation.
    • Transcribes and updates information in patient record as needed to be in compliance with Meaningful Use measures.
    • Oversees patient check out procedure including follow up appointments and testing.
    • Verify patient insurance eligibility.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager or any other authorized TVE Manager or Executive.
    Required Experience, Education & Licensure:

    The incumbent must possess a minimum education of a High School Diploma (or GED) with a minimum of 1 year of related medical office and customer service experience. Working knowledge of online calendar systems (Outlook), data entry and other business office system is required. Must have sound oral and written communication
