The base salary range for the position: Assistant Professor $86,500-$112,800 Associate Professor $107,300-$135,300 Professor $125,700-$228,600. The posted UC salary scales set the base pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment.     Position description

    The Division of Vascular Surgery is seeking a vascular surgeon to join the Division as a Professor of Clinical-X Series or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor Level. We expect the successful candidate to have clinical activity, as well as research activity with an interest in basic/translational discovery or health services research and conduct teaching activities.

    The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Clinical-X Series and Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

    Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is an essential criteria for appointment in this series.

    Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service

    Faculty rank and series will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Candidates should have a DO, MD or MD/ PhD with board certification/ eligibility in Vascular Surgery. Demonstrated expertise in clinical and translational research is expected, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary collaborations.

    The candidate may also go to VA Long Beach Healthcare System (VALBHS) which has long standing affiliation with University of California Irvine School of Medicine.

    Qualifications
    Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

    A D.O., M.D. or M.D./Ph.D., board certification or board eligibility in specialty, eligible to obtain a California DEA license and a California Medical License. The incumbent will participate in delivering patient care in an academic clinical setting, teach residents and medical students in clinical programs, and perform University and public service.
