    About the Position
    Throughout the Climate Leadership Certificate program an emphasis is placed on peer-to-peer learning, project and community-based learning, and community development. To support cohort growth, development, and engagement, a sustainability mentor position is being hired to support student and cohort health, strengthen program quality, and enhance career preparedness.

    This position will also serve an essential community engagement and communications role in sharing Climate Leadership Certificate stories with the public, program partners, and local youth by developing and providing program media that communicates the goals of the program, identifies opportunities to participate, and gathers input on program development.



    Required Qualifications
    • Completed a summer practicum for the Climate Leadership Certificate program
    • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, facilitation, & presentation)
    • Strong interest in developing and applying leadership skills while supporting leadership development in other students
    • Highly organized and prepared to plan and lead cohort activities
    • Strong situational awareness and ability to support organizational partnerships
    • Growth mindset and readiness to work independently at times and collaboratively as a team as well

    Salary
    $17.79/hour - $23.06/hour depending on qualifications and experience

    Bargaining Unit Temporary

    This position is covered by a Washington Federation of State Employees bargaining union. New employees are eligible for membership under the current collective bargaining agreement at 350 hours of employment.
