Job Summary:
The Deskside Administrator is responsible for providing on-site support for all end-user hardware and software needs. This role is crucial in ensuring that employees have functioning technology and can work efficiently. The Deskside Administrator will troubleshoot, respond to inquiries, and find solutions to technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on deskside support, including hardware and software troubleshooting and diagnosis.
Resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, network, and telephony.
Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages.
Manage user account setup and administration, including Active Directory.
Coordinate with IT support staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems, including file servers, email servers, conferencing systems, and application servers.
Train and orient staff on the use of hardware and software.
Recommend and implement upgrades on systems to ensure longevity.
Work with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Certifications such as CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent are preferred.
Experience: 3 years of experience in deskside support or related field.
