To design, install, configure, implement, and support all aspects of infrastructure environments, providing technical guidance and oversight and acts as a point of escalation and technical support. Responsible for server farms’ uptime, production maintenance, roll-out of new servers, and other critical deployments. Responsible for assisting in the support of PHC’s server applications, web servers, database servers, fax server, VOIP infrastructure, UNIX/Amisys systems environment, Pure storage array based SAN environment and other application servers, as determined by the Director of Network Operations. Assist senior team members with network, related hardware devices, and other functions. Responsible for PHC’s production network uptime and assist senior team members on heterogeneous servers backup and restores. Develop policies and procedures for various complex server operational procedures and maintain them. Practice systems change management procedures. Work with Operations and other IT staff to resolve server / network/application problems on priority basis.

SECONDARY DUTIES
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Business related field or equivalent experience. Four (4) years of network/server administration experience. Managed care or practice management experience a plus.
Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications
Four (4) years’ experience with Windows server and Active directory administration in a production server farm with DHCP/DNS/WINS servers. Unix/Linux and Oracle administration experience. Familiarity with installing and maintenance of Unix/Linux scripting languages like Perl. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Apache and Tomcat. Experience with backing up Unix, Virtual, and Database systems. One (1) year experience in managing network backup with storage networking– SAN, NAS, and DAS. Two (2) years of Cisco or HP switch and router configuration and troubleshooting experience. Knowledge of TCP/IP network protocols, sub netting, routing, and IP architecture required. Two (2) years of VMware ESX experience. Work experience with large data centers, server hardware, and related certifications is a big plus. Avaya, Nortel, Microsoft, Cisco, and Linux/security certifications preferred, not a mandate. Experience with hardware RAID arrays and other server hardware configurations, performance tuning is a must. One (1) year experience of Microsoft SQL 2005/2008 administration. Candidate must be a team player, willing to work on an on-call basis to accommodate production environment demands. Willing to lead and mentor more junior staff members, and take direction on projects from Director of Network Operations. Valid California driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with PHC policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.

Work Environment And Physical Demands
More than 80% of work time is spent in front of a computer monitor. May be required to lift, carry, or move equipment of varying size, weighing up to 50 lbs. May be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, or work in other non-standing and non-sitting positions to install cabling, systems hardware, and other related equipment.
