Information Security Analyst

    Job Function –
    Ensures compliance with the Bank's Cyber Security Program and related policies and procedures. Responds to daily security events based off of documented procedures and industry best practices. Identifies and addresses internal/external security exposures that may create employee risk or cause financial loss to the bank.

    Job Responsibilities –
    Administers the activities associated with bank cyber security.

    Identifies new threats and vulnerabilities and develops action plans to address the issues. Investigates and resolves security incidents.

    Plans and participates in the implementation and evaluation of security tools and technologies.

    Reviews all security logs (example: SecureWorks, Firewalls) and performs daily threat hunting.

    Notifies the IT department of imminent threats and recommended remediation.

    Performs and documents corporate investigative practices and standards. Investigates security events, all suspected internal and external criminal violations, suspicious incidents, policy violations that may become cyber security issues, escalating events and recommending corrective actions as necessary.

    Participates in the strategic processes of developing and implementing cyber security devices and processes.

    Functions as an internal consulting resource on cyber security issues.

    Monitors the Bank’s cyber activities and recommends corrective actions.

    Monitoring performance and providing advice on the impact of data protection efforts

    Ensures that own work, as well the financial institution, follows applicable regulations directly or through subordinates.

    All other duties as assigned.

    Education and Related Experience –
    • Associate’s degree in Information Technology/Information Security or equivalent work experience required.
    • 1-3 years’ experience in information security required.
    • Security , ISC2 CC, or ISC2 SSCP certification required. Equivalent work experience can be used as a substitute.
    • Experience working with enterprise security tools (SIEM, firewalls, IPS, anti-malware, anti-spam systems) a plus.
    Skills and Abilities –
    • Strong analytical skills under pressure.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to interact within all levels of the bank.
    • Knowledge of related state and federal banking regulations a plus.
    • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures.
    • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
    • Proven ability to effectively train and instruct others in a formal classroom or one-on-one environment.
    • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to apply superior decision making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures.
    Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements –
    • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to operate a keyboard if required performing the essential job functions.
    • Ability to read and interpret a document.
    • Ability to travel if required performing the essential job functions.
    • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 30 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence, omitting lifting as a physical requirement.
