    Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.

    Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration, and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.

    Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. Has wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

    Frequently contributes to the development and/or implementation of new technical standards and methods. Considered an expert in the field. Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Work is accomplished without considerable direction and/or coordinates activities of other personnel. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment, and determines the methods and procedures needed for new assignments.

    What You Need:

    Educational Requirements:

    Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience. Post-graduate degree and/or professional certification(s) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

    Desire qualifications:

    • Active Q Clearance.
    • HRP certified or ability to obtain HRP certification.
    • General knowledge of LANL operations and activities to include weapons program activities.

    Other Requirements:

    • Advanced level knowledge and skills in developing system requirements, specifications, and functional interfaces between system software components and the system-level design.
    • Advanced level knowledge of software configuration management best practices. Knowledge of software design concepts, software maintenance, user documentation. Knowledge of application software development lifecycle frameworks and methodologies and their related tools and techniques.
    • Knowledge of the software verification and validation processes, especially software testing that ensure that the requirements specification, design, and coding of software adequately fulfill all intended functions, with a preferences towards knowledge of and experience with automated testing.
    • Knowledge of hardware and operating systems including system architectures, and network infrastructures.
    • Knowledge of Web-based technologies including Web page development and maintenance and Web-based tools and utilities.
    • Knowledge of hardware and software integration and testing, and software risk management.
    • Ability to partner with customers. •Ability to review and understand end-to-end work processes.
    • Ability to translate technical terms to layperson's terms and present them to audiences outside of the technical team.
    • Program/Project Management background.
    • Scheduling background would be preferred.
    • General knowledge of SQL, Oracle, Excel, Access, P6, MicroStrategy.
