Designs systems to consider functional requirements, scalability, and security. Being a Systems Architect defines system solutions based on user needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. Researches, identifies, selects, and tests technology products required for solution delivery. Additionally, Systems Architect establishes, implements, and documents technology integrations or migration strategies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Systems Architect works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     American Systems is seeking a Combat Control Systems (AN/BYG-1) Engineering Technician to support efforts in Groton, CT.

    A week in the life of a Combat Control Systems Engineer Technician:

    • Assist with test and evaluation; perform validations/verifications of AN/BYG-1systems
    • Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions (ECI)
    • Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements
    • Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise
    • Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed
    • Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures; review change proposals for equipment impacts
    Job Requirements
    • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret Clearance.
    • Technical (Military/Trade) school/training beyond high school and at least 8 years of job-related experience or an equivalent
    • Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, repairing networking equipment and Windows servers and workstations
    • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

    AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - 82,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
