  • Job Summary:

    Collaborates with internal and external partners to determine technical requirements for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancements of existing systems; ensures the technical needs of assigned business units are met by facilitating all steps using effective business process improvements  

    Responsibilities:

    • Gathers and validates business and technology requirements to establish scope and parameters of requirements and define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics
    • Facilitates sessions with stakeholders to determine technical requirements
    • Collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure customer needs are met by reviewing requirements, status updates and associated issues; manage customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date on project results
    • Manages and documents all business requirements for project work in conjunction with related Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
    • Analyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards
    • Translates conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to all stakeholders
    • Manages and tracks the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforces and redefines as necessary. Ensures all duties including, but not limited to, requirements, test cases and test plans, are completed in accordance with all required documentation
    • Performs risk and business impact analysis for proposed enhancements and changes to business systems
    • Initiates and manages risk assessment process to completion, which includes risk documentation and risk mitigation controls
    • Establishes systems specifications and objectives, based on business requirements and cost effectiveness
    • Develops test plans and coordinates User Acceptance Testing as necessary
    • Monitors and review levels of IT services specified in the service-level agreements (SLAs) with the business
    • Research, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirement gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes; quantify potential efficiency opportunities and track accordingly
    • Keeps abreast of technology, customer needs, and industry related trends
    • Develops and maintains process maps for business systems and makes plans to accommodate future work requests
    • Coordinates and conducts user training sessions; develops and updates user documentation, written instructions, job aids, training guides, manuals and materials for users and applications meets with users to provide information regarding system changes and enhancements and to address any questions or issues.
    • Prepares complex reports, correspondence and other documents; participates on assigned committees and task forces; attends meetings, conferences and training sessions for assigned projects
    • Advises and guides business units in the process of developing system enhancements, ideas and work requests.  Captures potential benefits to assist with prioritization
    • Identifies system requirements and evaluates new applications
    • Documents interfaces between new and legacy systems
    • Maintains requirement details in appropriate ticketing systems as needed
    • Collaborates closely with IT Architects to design optimal technical solutions to meet business needs while aligning with IT strategies
    • Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by Management

    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field

    Experience Requirements:

    • Experience with MS SharePoint, SQL and business process management tools preferred

    Skill Requirements:

    • Demonstrated expertise with Word, Excel and other MS Office suite applications
    • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to research and resolve issues
    • Strong facilitation skills for requirement elicitation and management communications
    • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision 
    • Good understanding of business issues and technical implications
    • Excellent understanding of client operations and systems
    • Good problem-solving skills and attitude
    • Ability to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives and rapidly changing priorities 
    • Ability to present information, both verbal and written, in a clear and concise manner
    • Ability to multi-task and track multiple efforts concurrently
    • Ability to develop estimations, including the work steps and effort hours
    • Good understanding of databases, development tools, infrastructure and software applications
    • Ability to translate business requirement(s) into detailed technical documentation
    • Experience with software deployment processes
    • Familiarity with waterfall, agile and iterative software development lifecycles
    • Ability to test thoroughly including boundary testing, negative testing, ad hoc testing and regression testing
    • Ability to troubleshoot issues in the certification and production environments
    • Understanding of organizational change management (OCM) to assist with adoption of system changes
    • Ability to perform repeated bending, standing and reaching
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
