Systems Consultant/Engineering Director oversees the design of enablement plans and configuration specifications and installation operations to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Develops standard processes and methodologies to prototype and test proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. Being an Systems Consultant/Engineering Director directs the development of program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide the enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions. Ensures the delivery of technical information, documentation, requirements, and cost estimates to sales teams to use in proposals, quotes, and statements of work meet sales cycle and project timeline requirements. Additionally, Systems Consultant/Engineering Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Systems Consultant/Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Systems Consultant/Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Work with different tools and technologies while making major impacts on a small and agile team. Current technology stack centered on Microsoft Windows, also using VMWare, Veeam, and Exchange. Candidates will be comfortable working with Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS. Work with colleagues and technical resources to define technical solutions that meet business requirements. Contribute to the on-going development of best practices, identification of suitable new tools and system and service improvements.

     

    The System Administrator should be a full stack Microsoft engineer who is deeply technical and works very well in a dynamic, and team-oriented environment. This individual must be eager and capable of learning new skills and technology, and be motivated to work in a fast paced atmosphere where wearing multiple hats is encouraged. This position will report to the IT Manager.

     

    Duties:

     

    • Install and configure software and hardware
    • Manage network servers and technology tools
    • Setup accounts and workstations
    • Monitor performance and maintain systems
    • Ensure security and availability through access controls, backups and firewalls
    • Prepare documentation
    • Contribute ideas to project planning
    • Protect company proprietary and confidential information
    • Ensure proper functioning of applications in a production environment
    • Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
    • Perform simple to complex maintenance and problem resolution for core applications
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Basic Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 3-5 years equivalent experience required
    • Functional skills in networking administration
    • Familiarity of every-day scripting languages such as VBS, batch and Powershell, and tools such as putty
    • Analytical and basic problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to break down tasks and estimate work assignments
    • Ability to clearly communicate technical approach, status, and necessity for assistance
    • Ability to interact independently as well as with a team
    • Adaptable to change
    • 3 years of Windows Server administration experience

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5-7 years of Windows Server administration experience
    • Experience working as a Network Administrator and implementing networks
