Systems Consultant/Engineering Director oversees the design of enablement plans and configuration specifications and installation operations to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Develops standard processes and methodologies to prototype and test proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. Overview
The EHR Clinical Systems Specialist develops and delivers training of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to clinical staff. This position develops EHR clinical workflows, and provides help desk oversight and support. Works with business users and implementation teams to support, test, implement and configure business processes for the EHR system. Provides support for external fidelity audits and peer chart reviews. Provides clinical input for system configuration, including user forms and reports.
Responsibilities
Delivers new-hire EHR and ongoing staff training including development of training system setup, agendas, materials, and testing.
Provides EHR support for weekly lab sessions for ongoing staff support.
Provides help desk support during normal work hours.
Ensures help desk requests are responded to in a timely manner.
Reviews help desk requests to determine additional training needs and/or process flow concerns that need to be addressed.
Provides on-call coverage for help desk on a rotating shared basis.
Delivers training and support for program fidelity audits.
Provides hands-on support during QA peer reviews for clinical programs.
In conjunction with the EHR manager and QA staff, develops systems to ensure all reporting requirements are met as needed by clinical and financial staff.
Participates in designated activities of the EHR implementation team.
Works with clinical program staff to develop business processes and workflows for EHR usage.
Provides clinical input and recommendations for ongoing EHR system configuration.
Provides clinical input and recommendations for EHR forms and reports.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience in IT, clinical or operational environments.
Strong analytical skills for workflow processes and integrating with EHR.
Effective communication skills for purposes of training and working with clinical staff.
Excellent interpersonal skills in creating collaborative teamwork within different departments and needs of the organization.
Both technical skills and people skills required; must have strong communication skills and be able to discuss issues and needs in plain language as well as technical jargon – using language appropriate for the audience.
Possess business experience sufficient to meet the demands of the position, including proficiency with a variety of software applications. Need to possess advanced analytical skills to identify efficiency opportunities and improve systems performance.
Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.
