Directs the registration, charge capture/CDM, billing, collections, cash posting, and customer service functions for the organization. Responsible for performance improvement initiatives in order to maximize reimbursement. Responsible for identifying opportunities to streamline processes that directly impact accuracy, efficiency and integrity of patient billing and collections including registration, charge capture, coding, documentation, and claims processing. Works collaboratively with directors and managers from all areas of the organization to define objectives, create improvement plans, and monitors progress. Works with the Director, Managed Care to ensure payer compliance with negotiated contracts.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with other departments to improve revenue cycle process.
Oversees registration and business office functions.
Provides management with critical reports to aid in decision making and reporting.
Oversees financial counselor functions.
Provides financial management.
Participates in hospital QA program.
Provides direction to personnel function.
Educational / Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or other related field. Five to eight years related experience, two to three years of which are in a supervisory capacity.

Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements:
General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Other programs as mandated by Hospital.
Special Requirements:
Computer skills, knowledge of UB-04 billing requirements, as well as pertinent Federal, State and local billing requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Extended sitting, together with occasional bending, reaching, and stooping.
Work Environment:
Normal office conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation. May include customer contact and telephone use.
