Systems Consultant/Engineering Director oversees the design of enablement plans and configuration specifications and installation operations to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Develops standard processes and methodologies to prototype and test proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. The Systems Consultant/Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Systems Consultant/Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     This role will support Space Systems and Tactical Systems portfolios of our Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance solutions (C4ISR) business and report directly to the C4ISR HR Leader. In C4ISR, you’ll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions.


    This position is a hybrid role based out of our Manassas, Virginia location. Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. Full-time remote will be considered with different travel expectations.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Create and execute an agile people strategy that advances critical business priorities and supports the attraction, development, and retention of our talent – while embracing the future of work.
    • Lead and/or partner (with COE’s) on items including, but not limited to talent acquisition, talent development, leadership development, succession planning, diversity, equity and inclusion, organizational effectiveness, performance development and total rewards.
    • Build and execute a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plan to drive tangible improvements in diverse representation. Integrate DEI principles and practices into business goals, talent development strategies. Promote a strong culture of inclusion across the organization.
    • Orchestrate key talent movement with an aim towards building diverse teams and robust succession.
    • Partner with leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of their teams and their organizational design. Facilitate workshops to re-evaluate existing structures, where needed. Lead change management efforts and new leader onboarding/assimilation activities, as required.
    • Counsel / coach leaders across the integrated team on matters concerning development of their organization to enhance effectiveness and potential. Connect leaders to the right resources to support their own development and the development/effectiveness of their teams.
    • Serve as a member of the C4ISR HR Business Partner team, actively partnering with other team members across the function and business to drive innovative, strategic, and consistent people strategies across all of Electronic Systems.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills
    • 12 Years with BS OR 10 Years with MS OR 6 Years with PhD
    • Must be willing to travel up to 25%.

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Experience in an HR Business Partner role supporting an organization with a population of 800 employees.
    • Previous experience working for a government defense contractor.
    • This is a hybrid position with a mix of on-site and remote presence. Full-time remote will be considered with different travel expectations.
    • Proven experience serving as a coach to senior leaders for their organization on HR matters relating to organizational strategies and business imperatives.
    • Business acumen, be innovative, adapt well to change and work collaboratively with strategic influence to drive initiatives across a matrixed environment.
    • Deep knowledge of HR fundamentals (talent acquisition, total rewards, performance management, employee relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, organizational change, learning and development, and organization effectiveness).
    • Ability to develop and present senior level leaders with data-driven solutions that will effectively advance business strategies and drive change throughout their organizations.
    • Project management and prioritization skills with proven attention to detail.
    • Analytical skills to draw appropriate conclusions from data, anticipating second and third order of effects when making recommendations.


    Pay Information
    Full-Time Salary Range: $128100 - $217800

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
