Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager oversees the design of enablement plans and configuration specifications and installation operations to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Develops standard processes and methodologies to prototype and test proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. Being an Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager directs the development of program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide the enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions.     The Tactical Solutions Strategic Business Unit delivers mission system solutions, from specialized antennas to electro-optical technologies, to the warfighter. Our systems enhance the performance of various military platforms, from aircraft and land vehicles to ships and satellites, and give warfighters the advantage they need to take action, identify targets and defend against evolving threats.

    What You'll Do:
    • Assist in the development and communication of proposal strategy, including pursuit analysis, bidding strategies, technical presentations, win themes, key points, and pricing.
    • Coordinate all proposal activities, prepare various inputs, to assist with final proposal delivery.
    • Understand the proposal process from beginning to end.
    • Lead proposal compliance, color team reviews and best practices across all critical proposals within Imaging and Surveillance.
    • Work with internal team members to improve capture/proposal products, procedures, and processes, to ensure timeliness and accuracy of submission.
    • Develop the ability to work with a team of engineers and related staff focused on capturing new programs and transitioning them into successful development efforts.
    • Develop the ability to work with team members, customers, and end users to find solutions to today's needs and help develop concepts for next generation platforms and capabilities.
    • Assess market potential for existing markets and develop investment plans to penetrate new or lateral markets. Assist in directing innovative research and establish industrial partnerships necessary to effectively compete in EO/IR markets.
    • Propose IR&D in coordination with the Chief Technologist and coordinate technology developments with other mission areas as appropriate.
    • Develop the ability to work with prime and government customers and understand Electro Optical technology at a minimal support level.
    • Oversee capture of new study efforts having the potential to evolve into new business capture opportunities. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company.
    • Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary.

    On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

    Working Conditions:
    Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.


    Required Education, Experience, & Skills
    • BS/BA in related field plus 8 years or more related experience.
    • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. An advanced degree preferred.
    • A current, active Secret security clearance is required. A current, active Top-Secret security clearance with SSBI is preferred.
    • Proposal management and business capture experience is preferred.
    • Solid project management skills and demonstrated ability to grow new business opportunities, including a track record of successfully managing the transition of new technologies and developmental hardware.
    • Earned Value Management experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills in relevant business environments.
    • Influencing, communication and team skills will be critical to successful execution of the duties of the position. Programmatic background within classified program environments for government or industry is preferred. Experience in leading design teams and new business capture activities is preferred.
    • Experienced presentation skills with documented presentation experience to senior decision making and technical audiences.
    • Demonstrated proposal leadership experience including strong technical writing skills is preferred.


    Pay Information
    Full-Time Salary Range: $129000 - $177750

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
