Job Description: Individual will serve as a Q.E.D. Engineering Manager for a U.S. Navy contract. Contract requirements will include Ship Change Documentation Support (SCD), Ship Checks, Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), Configuration Management, Logistics Support, Ship Availability Planning, and In-service Engineering Agent (ISEA) support. The Q.E.D. Engineering Manager will report directly to the Q.E.D. Deputy Program Manager (PM) and will be responsible for reviewing and approving engineering specifications, engineering drawings, performing engineering analysis and calculations, and conducting engineering feasibility studies. The Q.E.D Engineering Manager must be proficient in mechanical, electrical, structural, and/or C4ISR systems design, operation, and testing.
Job Requirements/skill sets: A minimum of 10-years of direct experience providing ship design, construction, modernization, maintenance, or engineering support to U.S. Navy ships is required. Preferred experience includes engineering related roles at a Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair command, Regional Maintenance Center, Navy Central Planning Activity, Planning for Engineering and Repair Activity, and public or private shipyards. Degreed maritime academy and Naval academy graduates with ship operations and maintenance experience are also desirable. Must understand the relationship with Long Lead Time Material (LLTM), design, engineering, and kitting. LCS experience and/or other Surface Combatant experience is preferred. Must have a strong understanding of Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs) , schematics, system diagrams, Installation Control Drawings, (ICDs), Ship Change Documents (SCDs), Navy Data Environment (NDE) and Navy Ships Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR).
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and/or be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
