Systems Engineering Director oversees the department responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. Provides leadership to the team and ensures the requirements of the projects/contracts are met. Being a Systems Engineering Director ensures that hardware and/or software are designed and installed in a manner that meets the needs of the organization. Evaluates, designs and develops existing reports/documents for the performance of the systems. Additionally, Systems Engineering Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Systems Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Systems Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Minimum Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in computer science or a relevant field and seven years of progressively responsible experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be accepted.

    A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.

    Position Details:

    This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 84 (IS Professional 4), based on education and experience.
