Systems Engineering Director oversees the department responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. Evaluates, designs and develops existing reports/documents for the performance of the systems. Additionally, Systems Engineering Director requires a bachelor's degree.     We are hiring both entry-level and experienced Construction Materials Testing Technicians for field work in Gulf shorse, AL. If you have worked as a Construction Materials Testing laboratory technician, inquire with us about the travel opportunities we offer for experienced Technicians in both the field and laboratory settings. Full-time positions are preferred, but we also have part-time positions available.

    Key Responsibilities:

    As a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician in Alabama, your primary responsibility is to perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of various construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors regarding project requirements and testing results. Additionally, you will transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis, and prepare data and observation reports for daily submission to the Project Manager. It will also be your responsibility to maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas, and may assist in scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites. Safety is of utmost importance, and you must adhere to strict safety standards. We are seeking entry-level and experienced individuals for this role, with experience being a plus but not a not requirement. The role involves testing and inspection of asphalt, concrete, soils, piles, and other construction-related quality control and quality assurance work.

    Qualifications for Construction Materials Testing Technician jobs will include:

    • No experience required, but is preferred.
    • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history
    • Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire
    • Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire
    • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications
    • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including overtime
    • Must be able to pass background check
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Ability to lift 10-60 lbs. and work outside for extended periods of time
    • Wear steel toe shoes as needed
    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
    • ACI certification in concrete field testing technician Grade I is preferred, but not required.
    • Relevant experience in construction materials testing or a related field is preferred.
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and digging.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
    • Familiarity with testing equipment and procedures for materials such as soils, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and report data.
    • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
    • Pre-employment drug screen and motor vehicle record checks are required.

    Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Technician Jobs Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel)

    As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you will be expected to engage in effective communication with various stakeholders including project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor's representatives, and others involved in the construction site. This involves discussing project requirements as well as testing, observation, and inspection results to ensure that the necessary standards are met.

    • Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis
    • Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Project Manager
    • Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas
    • May assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites
    • Adhere to strict safety standards
    • Under close supervision of higher-level technicians or staff professionals, learn and assist with tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties
    • Provides clear documentation of findings and results
    • Communicates information to Project Manager and discusses accuracy of data in preparation for submittal
    • Submits documentation and communicates results as directed by the Project Manager
    • Maintains assigned equipment
    • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects
    • Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work
    • Report any safety issues or concerns to management
    • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects
    • Providing an additional 40 hours of sick leave to anyone impacted by COVID-19, including those impacted by daycare and school closures
    • Ensuring proper PPE and sanitation on all project sites by providing field employee-owners with mobile hand washing stations and supplies, masks, and sanitizing kits
