Systems Engineering Director oversees the department responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. Provides leadership to the team and ensures the requirements of the projects/contracts are met. Being a Systems Engineering Director ensures that hardware and/or software are designed and installed in a manner that meets the needs of the organization. Evaluates, designs and develops existing reports/documents for the performance of the systems. Additionally, Systems Engineering Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Systems Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     What You'll Do
    In this role, you will have direct account and partner responsibilities for selected accounts in an assigned territory. You will:

    • Develop and execute full-stack technical solutions that solve customer business problems. Champion and convey the best outcome vision to customer management, operations and engineering teams.
    • Orchestrate technical activities and resources on your client’s behalf and provide an architectural perspective across the Cisco portfolio.
    • Collaborate with other team members on the strategy to solve the client's business, technical, engineering and operational needs.
    • Lead with use-cases, demos and prototypes to show how your solution impacts the customer’s business. Map out the technology solution, and roadmap the journey from where your customers is to where they intend to be.
    • Give technical presentations for customers, partners, and prospects and assist with the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities.
    • Continually develop your personal and technical skills based on regional market trends, ensuring these trends are reflected in strategies implemented and solutions offered.
    • Who You'll Work With
    You will lead the Cisco State, Local government and Education (SLED) Systems Engineering Team for the Lone Star Region. You will form a close partnership with the Regional Sales Manager. You will work with SLED clients, as well as with our SLED team members, including Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Product Sales Executives or Specialists in your account/territory/patch. You will work with your team and partners to provide best and optimized solutions for your customers.

    • Pre-sales Systems Engineering experience strongly desired
    • Must have 7 years in our industry with proven experience selling/crafting/implementing Cisco solutions or similar technology solutions: Routing & Switching, Security, Data Centre, Cloud, Automation, Application Analytics, Unified Communications & Collaboration.
    • Experience leading a team of people or leading a project from start to completion.
    • A strong background in a broad range of solutions, with the ability to link a business-relevant solution message across Cisco's full technology stack.
    • Motivated self-starter that focuses on the success of the broader team while continuously finding ways to help other teammates.
    • Demonstrated collaborative skills, working effectively within a cross-functional organization both internally and externally.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and strong presentation skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills: ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action.
    • Industry-recognized certification is helpful.

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses.     U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
    Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
