Systems Engineering Manager manages daily operations in the department responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. Ensures that hardware and/or software are designed and installed in a manner that meets the needs of the organization. Being a Systems Engineering Manager monitors systems performance and provides recommendations as required. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Systems Engineering Manager typically reports to a head of unit/department. The Systems Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Must be Authorized to work in the United States.
Repairs, tests and calibrates complex equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendations and other established guidelines. Performs assigned duties in accordance with current policies and procedures, including equipment inspection and complex repairs. Provides alternate solutions to management for critical and complex issues. Assists in decision making prior to implementation. Uses office automation hardware, software, and service software appropriate to the equipment being serviced. Oversees and performs installations, troubleshooting, repair and calibration of clinical equipment. Oversees the maintenance of a calibration program for electronic and safety testing equipment used by the department. Installs repairs and calibrates complex and most classes of clinical equipment. Serves as reference source for clinical engineering and clinical staff with regard to appropriate procedures for the operation and maintenance of clinical equipment.
Performs administrative functions including:
detailed purchase specifications.
• May order parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment. • Maintains historical
records on PMs and safety inspections
• Prepares purchase requests • Orders repair parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of
medical equipment
Establishes work priorities and provides oversight and support to assigned staff. Communicates concern for proper planning, time utilization, high quality and cost containments. Provides mentorship and guidance to staff. Conducts cross training in the techniques of testing, calibrating, operating and troubleshooting biomedical systems
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
4-7 years' experience servicing medical equipment.
