- Manage and grow a high-performing team of engineers specializing in the full development cycle of Generac's battery management systems.
- Define a portfolio and execution plan for battery management development projects and improvement projects; support with appropriate analyses (e.g, RoI, revenue impact, budget analysis, etc).
- Drive the architecture, implementation, and validation of battery management systems.
- Evaluate and negotiate product/solution requirements; assimilate with Core bms platform strategy; and ensure the team's work is aligned.
- Enable a culture that fosters a positive employee work environment and embraces an open exchange ideas and viewpoints.
- Work with employees to help them achieve their full potential at Generac; recognize employee contributions and reward outstanding contributions.
- Identify and anticipate resource conflicts and workflow conflicts, work to resolve them constructively.
- Support financial discipline; plan and organize budgets to support strategic initiatives.
- Most importantly, develop innovative technology, tackle difficult problems, and help deliver world-class energy solutions to our customers!
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
- 5 years managing a team.
- Master's in Engineering.
- Prior experience as a tech lead delivering high-tech hardware & firmware solutions.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of power electronics hardware, semiconductor power devices, and advanced digital control systems.
- Understanding of test and verification methods for release of production ready solutions.
- Experience with designing to meet agency compliance such as UL, CSA, NEC, CE, FCC, NFPA and EPA.
