Systems Engineering Manager manages daily operations in the department responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. Ensures that hardware and/or software are designed and installed in a manner that meets the needs of the organization. Being a Systems Engineering Manager monitors systems performance and provides recommendations as required. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Systems Engineering Manager typically reports to a head of unit/department. The Systems Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Systems Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Engineering Manager - Assembly

  • Summary:        Manages Engineering personnel (Manufacturing Engineering/Planning, Tool Engineering/Design, Tool Control, Fabrication, Repair & Procurement, & N/C Programming) to ensure quality completion of assigned work and on-time delivery.  Will serve as primary technical point of contact for engineering/technical issues and concerns, to all internal organizations and customers, as required.  

    Supervises up to 7 employees.  

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manages/supervises Engineering department employees. 
    • Ensures deliverables meet internal, customer and regulatory technical requirements
    • Provides engineering/technical assistance to all production and quality departments/locations including customer engineering/technical organizations.
    • Lead and direct the execution and appropriate flow of information for all tool design, NC, CMM and tooling vendor activity to support company and customer requirements.
    • Deploys Tool Control strategy and systems to ensure compliance to internal/customer requirements.  
    • Perform and conduct tool audits and ensure tool periodics as required by company policy and customer requirements.
    • Evaluates and determines required resources for tooling to support timely and quality execution of New Product Introduction (NPI).
    • Help develop and implement DMIP (Direct Margin Improvement Plans) as required.
    • Supports the development of tooling quotes, cost estimates and bid reviews.
    • Provides status and visibility of individual employee or departmental performance.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business or related field required. Equivalent experience in related functions within aircraft structures or liaison may be substituted.   
    • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in aircraft structures product development and/or manufacturing supervisory experience required.
    • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR requirement)
    • Ability to identify proper materials and supplies according to specification.
    • Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
    • Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers; listen to others without interrupting and get clarification when needed.
    • Sense of urgency, with a strong attention to detail and focus on safety, quality and accuracy.
    • Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions.
    • Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed; performs work independently without being prompted
    • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and work within deadlines.
