Completes support tasks related to the design and implementation of hardware and/or software for the systems. Being a Systems Engineering Technician tracks and reports on systems performance. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Systems Engineering Technician typically reports to a manager. The Systems Engineering Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.   • We are looking for a Construction Technicianto join our team in our Lansing office in Michigan. Ample opportunities are available throughout Michigan.

    Essential Functions:

    The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all-encompassing:

    • Onsite project inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
    • Sampling, testing, density control, material certification, and reporting, as necessary.
    • Measuring and documenting construction progress for contractor payment.
    • Reporting and record keeping.
    • Knowledge of Fieldbook, ProjectWise, and Microsoft applications desired.

    Education, Experience, Certifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Certification required.
    • Experience with zipper wall inspection preferred.
    • A minimum of one (1) construction season of experience is required on infrastructure projects.
    • High School Diploma or GED required. An associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field is desired.
    • Construction inspection or testing experience on MDOT projects preferred.
    • Inspection and/or testing certifications are strongly desired.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal, digital, and written forms.
    • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, dependable, and team oriented.
    • Ability to represent RS Engineering in the field with a high level of professionalism and integrity.
