Systems Engineering Technician assists systems engineers in the development of the systems infrastructure. Completes support tasks related to the design and implementation of hardware and/or software for the systems. Being a Systems Engineering Technician tracks and reports on systems performance. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Systems Engineering Technician typically reports to a manager. The Systems Engineering Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. In this customer-facing role, you will provide hands-on engineering support that enables business outcomes to increase the value of IT relevance to our customers and partners.
Please note this is an onsite role, which requires 4 days a week at the customer site in Redmond, Washington.
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH?
The Consulting Engineer will build close relationships with customers, CX counterparts, architects, & business units to achieve customer goals and internal Cisco alignment.
The role will report to and work with the CX Americas Service Provider Architecture Team Group Leader.
Work with CX Americas SP Theater Customer Delivery teams : Make connections and drive actions from multiple Cisco teams including the Business Unit, Engineering, CX Product Management, CX Project Management, CX Centers Delivery teams, and CX Region Customer Delivery teams.
Contribute to product and offer improvement by providing lifecycle feedback to CX Product Management and BE / BU.
Collaborate with Account teams, Customer Support, Partners to improve customer experience, address product or engagement concerns, ongoing strategy and help drive incremental business growth while focusing on our Customer Experience obsession.

Desired experience, knowledge and Skills;
BS (MS preferred) in a business OR technical discipline.
8 years' experience working with Network Engineering solutions.
Advanced Network design skills, with strong knowledge of Routing Networking Products, primarily Cisco IOS XR based.
Demonstrated experience leading IP infrastructure-related projects.
Experience supporting multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale Routing and IP network environment.
Knowledge and experience with the following areas : Cisco Routing & XR Platforms, Datacenter Platforms, IP Routing, Internetworking, MPLS, LAN Switching.
Strong knowledge in software and features, examples include : MPLS (L2 / L3 VPN) and MPLS-TE, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, inter-as, carrier Ethernet, Qos, Ipv6, Vxlan / EVPN and Segment Routing.
In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability & capacity planning.
Experience with Scripting, Python, and / or Linux is a plus.
Strong technical account management skills.
Proven experience in Professional / Consulting Services or high-level support.
Ability to Identify and share opportunities, winning use cases, and relevant strategies to our CX teams and Sales team.
Ability to guide and mentor junior-level engineers.
Good to have;
Preferred active Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) (written and lab).
