Description:
As the Director of Engineering, you will report directly to the company President and play a critical role in leading the engineering department along with interfacing and supporting sales. This position is a hands-on leader with the ability to both lead, mentor, and be directly involved in the design of all aspects of electronic products development and service. You will have a deep knowledge of electronic circuit board and module design which includes the entire design process from product conception, cost development estimation, documentation, simulation, schematic capture and circuit board layout, bill of materials generation, working with subcontractors, testing, integration, and final product approval.
Responsibilities:
. Engineering leadership of a small team of engineers of currently five engineers. Weekly meeting with team to understand and monitor states of projects. Assign engineering work projects to individual members of the engineering department. Working directly with the company President, Engineering Projects and Lab Manager, Director of Sales, and General Manager.
· Sales Support: You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be directly involved in working with the company President and Director of Sales to prepare both government and commercial technical written proposals.
· Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on guidance and expertise to the team in the areas of analog, digital, and RF/Microwave circuit design. Knowledge of AC to DC power design is also desirable as well as some knowledge of programming.
· Communication: Clearly and concisely communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, sharing knowledge and expertise with the team.
· Documentation: Contribute to the documentation coverage, test coverage, and whenever applicable to improve the engineering workflow and efficiency.
Qualifications:
· Experience: 8 years in electronics/electrical engineering as a practicing hands-on engineer developing products. 2 years minimum managing other engineers and technicians.
· Education: BS in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Physics from an accredited US College or University. A Masters in EE is desirable. Degrees from verifiable universities with the European Union or State of Israel are also acceptable.
· Technical Skills: a strong knowledge of circuit design in the areas of analog and RF/Microwave is required for this position. Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded application software is also helpful, but not required.
· Experience with modern CAD design tools or the equivalent such as SPICE, MATLAB, Mathematica, EagleCAD, or KiCAD.
· Experience with computer programming using such languages as Python, C, C , or C# is desirable, but not required.
· Team Player: A friendly, collaborative team player who can adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage sometimes conflicting priorities to changing business needs is required.
· Leveraging Partnerships: Participate in evaluating outsourcing opportunities as a complement to in-house capabilities.
· Communications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and solutions effectively.

Position: Full-time at our Fair Lawn, NJ facility
No Remote Work: This position requires daily interaction with individuals physically located at the company. As such, there is no remote work option.
Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000 per year based on experience.
