Purpose:
- Works with internal and external customers and stakeholders to develop system/subsystem architectural models, define requirements and verification methods, and manage risk for guided munition programs.
- Collaborates with Program Managers to balance technical scope with cost, schedule, resources, and risk.
- Recommends system engineering tools, defines processes, and leads continuous improvement activities.
- Supports business development and works with customers and suppliers for product development.
Major Position Responsibilities
- Perform requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, decision analysis and trade studies, systems integration, and test (verification), validation, and interface definition studies of system/subsystem elements with minimal supervision of the lead systems engineer.
- Develop and document system architecture using model-based design practices.
- Perform customer requirements analysis, develop system requirements, and define allocations to lower levels (subsystems, hardware, software).
- Create, manage, and validate requirement databases; establish verification methods and maintain requirement traceability; and produce requirement verification trace matrices.
- Plan and implement system integration and verification programs to ensure the system meets all requirements. Include development and execution of hardware and software test procedures.
- Research and analyze data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Assist in the establishment of milestones and schedules for major systems engineering projects.
- Perform technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and effectiveness analyses for subsystem and system elements.
- Provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employees and lead technical tasks for small teams or projects.
- Lead or participate in development of Statement of Work documents.
- Participate as a technical lead with Guidance, Navigation, and Control system subcontractors.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities to advance performance of the Systems Engineering group.
- Coordinate risk management activities at the system and subsystem level.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses.
- Perform Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) at functional and component levels.
- Lead formal root cause analysis efforts.
- Plan and support generation of technical documents and presentation materials.
- Present technical briefings to internal and external customers.
- Support business development by providing engineering support for proposals.
Basic Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Discipline/Major: Engineering, Physics, or a related field
Years and area of experience (required for the role):
- 8 years related experience in Systems Engineering, preferably in the Aerospace or Defense industry.
- Advanced degree may substitute for some experience requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Direct experience working with Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Reliability, Safety, Cybersecurity, and Test & Integration engineers to define system and subsystem product solutions.
- Strong
- proficiency in requirements management and verification using tools such as DOORS.
- team collaboration and leadership. Capability to lead a technical team, provide direction subcontractors, and collaborate with management.
- technical writing skill and disciplined approach to documentation and presentations.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML tools such as Cameo and Rhapsody for documentation of system and sub-system architectures.
- Clear understanding of basic project management principles.
- Effective presentation and communication skills.
- Will also require ability to obtain a Secret level clearance.

Pay Range (USD)
$115,637.74 - $173,456.60
Additional Compensation
Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.
