ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the HR Talent Acquisition function, developing and managing efficient and scalable full-cycle recruitment processes to find high-quality candidates for a wide range of university positions.
- Develop and implement the talent acquisition strategy and supporting technologies, partnering with executive HR and University leadership to align recruitment strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop the full candidate lifecycle experience from sourcing, recruitment, internal stakeholder partnerships and management, offer, and orientation that ensures a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.
- Lead the growing Talent Acquisition team. This includes selecting, hiring, training, developing, and managing performance.
- Develop the Talent Acquisition team in a fast-paced environment, utilizing Talent Acquisition metrics to drive team performance.
- Ensure the team headcount and structure is designed appropriately to deliver impactful recruiting strategies and a high-touch candidate and hiring manager experience.
- Establish, monitor, and regularly report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of talent acquisition efforts, making data-driven improvements.
- Manage a recruitment-related calendar of events, including hiring events and career fairs. Assist in the management of the University’s new employee orientation program.
- Influence and advise at all levels of the University regarding recruitment initiatives, selection and hiring best practices, and policies that ensure alignment with the University’s strategic plan.
- Spearhead and manage change related to Talent Acquisition, communicating with the University leaders, hiring managers, stakeholders, and HR team members to ensure effective adoption of new technologies, processes, and practices.
- Collaborate with HR stakeholders, University leaders, and LU Marketing to create and promote a positive and consistent employment brand and a compelling candidate experience.
- Build strong partnerships with external vendors and work closely with the HR Information Services team members to maintain and develop recruitment technologies, including Workday Recruiting and other relevant software and programs.
- Ensure all talent acquisition practices are compliant with federal, state, and local recruitment and employment laws, regulations, and university policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for 2-4 direct reports with a total of 16-20 full time subordinate team members.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Required:
- Proven experience in Talent Acquisition, with 8 years of experience with full cycle recruitment
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading Talent Acquisition personnel
- Previous experience with ATS systems, job promotion and sourcing tools (Workday Recruiting, LinkedIn and really preferred)
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing employment policies and practices
- Successful track record of building and optimizing a recruiting function, including process development, technology implementation, headcount management and strategy
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant field experience
Preferred:
- Experience with Workday Recruiting implementation
- Master’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR
- SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential

Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.
Driving Requirements
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
