Talent Management Manager manages the development, implementation, and administration of programs that evaluate, measure, enhance and improve employee performance. Utilizes assessments to evaluate and identify the current and emerging skills, competencies, and behaviors required to achieve desired organizational results and prepare for future needs. Being a Talent Management Manager leads the design of performance management strategies and processes that measure outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and align teams to organizational goals. Establishes cross-functional synergies that provide training and development resources needed to achieve workforce performance improvements. Additionally, Talent Management Manager champions a culture of objective setting and result measurement aligned to pay and rewards using tools, training, and communication. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Talent Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Talent Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Talent Acquisition Key Responsibilities:       

    • Develops and executes effective talent acquisition and sourcing strategies to ensure excellence in attraction of candidates, supporting the talent needs for overall organization.
    • Manages the recruitment function and budget including spend across various technologies and oversight of the negotiation and management of recruitment related vendors.
    • Drives best practices in online recruitment including passive sourcing, social media utilization, and targeted messaging.  Manages employer branding and recruitment marketing efforts in collaboration with the marketing department.
    • Acts as overall owner for the ATS module of the HCM system, evaluating systems-related efficiencies, data accuracy and ensuring a fully compliant recruitment process.
    • Leads select senior level/executive searches (Director and above) including sourcing, vendor management, interviewing and offer management.
    • Works closely with plant HR resources to ensure plant-level recruiting processes are effective and compliant with labor laws and policies.
    • Remains current on changes in the labor market and employment laws; ensure hiring standards and practices adhere to all laws and regulations.
    • Manages and improves recruitment processes to drive strong performance in the areas of cost-of-hire, time to fill, aged requisition reduction, candidate and hiring manager satisfaction, diversity hiring and sourcing optimization.
    • Leads internal communication and training to drive talent acquisition best practices, facilitates hiring manager ownership and participation, and ensures the candidate experience is best-in-class.

     

    Talent Development Key Responsibilities:       

    • Develops and executes the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s talent development strategies including those associated with performance management, succession planning, talent engagement and retention, and training initiatives to support business objectives and increase employee and organization capabilities.
    • Acts as overall owner for the talent development portion of the HCM system, evaluating systems-related efficiencies, data accuracy and ensuring a robust performance management process.
    • Manages the talent development budget including spend for LMS solutions, training programs and engagement initiatives. 
    • Manages the review and selection of all external L&D program partners, resources & processes.
    • Responsible for all performance management and goal setting processes including design, delivery, analysis, communications and annual process improvement recommendations.
    • Leads efforts to ensure proper management and ongoing effectiveness of the Learning Management System (LMS).
    • Monitors and tracks the effectiveness and value of all L&D programs, processes and systems
    • Supports the delivery of ad-hoc projects throughout the year which will include research, analysis and the development of recommendations.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
    • 7 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing organization.
    • Prior experience leading talent development/management/engagement initiatives in a multi-site setting.
    • Proven track record of success developing and executing effective talent attraction strategies and recruiting top-caliber talent for senior level positions.
    • Working knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws related to HR policies and practices.
    • Experience leading and managing significant organizational change, organizational development and/or organizational effectiveness initiatives.
    • Strong organizational skills to handle high volumes of work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while maintaining excellent delivery and quality performance.
    • Proven success working across organizational lines and at multiple levels and who can achieve business objectives through personal initiative and energy.
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities with a strong attention to detail, combined with a strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, individually and in teams.
    • Proven oral and written communications skills to convey information clearly and effectively. Solid listening skills to gather information for understanding.
    • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources, determine issues and objectives, and develop strategies to address needs.
    • Strong integration skills. Able to drive all parts of the organization to consensus.
    • Ability to pivot focus effectively in response to business needs.
    • Experience managing complex employee/labor relations situations.
    • History of effectively coaching across levels and functions, including individuals in more senior roles than oneself.
    • Project management and business acumen skills.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint.

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    • PHR/SPHR certification.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies to increase value to customers through elimination of non-value added work.
    • Experience working in both union and non-union environments.
