Talent Management Specialist develops, implements, and administers programs that evaluate, measure, and improve employee performance. Conducts assessment activities to evaluate and identify the current and emerging skills, competencies, and behaviors required to achieve desired organizational results and prepare for future needs. Being a Talent Management Specialist designs performance management strategies and processes that measure outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and align teams to organizational goals. Identifies the types of training and development and resources needed to achieve workforce performance improvements. Additionally, Talent Management Specialist encourages a culture of objective setting and result measurement aligned to pay and rewards using tools, training, and communication. The ideal candidate would be a current law enforcement officer, professional firefighter or a retired law enforcement officer or professional firefighter with 20 years’ job experience. The candidate must be available for large scale, highly attended events and drills on campus, such as Men’s Division 1 basketball, commencement or spring weekend activities. Protects life and property with a focus on events on campus with a higher threat level potential than regular patrol. Identifies and reports unsafe conditions on campus, handles emergencies and other inquiries for the Office of Safety and Security. Identifies strengths and weaknesses of emergency preparedness plans, policies, systems and procedures, and makes recommendations for improvements. Assist with emergency planning to include development, maintenance and updating site emergency and action plans. Must be able to work independently and with a team.
