Talent Management Specialist develops, implements, and administers programs that evaluate, measure, and improve employee performance. Conducts assessment activities to evaluate and identify the current and emerging skills, competencies, and behaviors required to achieve desired organizational results and prepare for future needs. Being a Talent Management Specialist designs performance management strategies and processes that measure outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and align teams to organizational goals. Identifies the types of training and development and resources needed to achieve workforce performance improvements. Additionally, Talent Management Specialist encourages a culture of objective setting and result measurement aligned to pay and rewards using tools, training, and communication. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Talent Management Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Position Statement
    In keeping with the President's commitment to Tuskegee University becoming "One Tuskegee", the ideal Talent Acquisition Specialist will possess the willingness to use their expertise in transforming Tuskegee into a leading 21st century living and learning environment.

    Summary
    Under administrative direction, this position will source world class candidates for Tuskegee University. The talent acquisition specialist will be responsible for determining job requirements, screening candidates, and forecasting hiring needs.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Serve as the employment liaison to internal departments to determine recruitment needs.
    • Determining selection criteria, hiring profiles, and job requirements for vacant positions.
    • Source potential candidates through online company career portals, recruitment sites, job boards, social platforms, as print media, posters, and flyers, when required.
    • Mange hiring processes via electronic Applicant Tracking Systems.
    • Evaluating applications and screening candidates via calls or emails, as well as facilitating pre-interview assessments.
    • Compile interview questions, and conduct in-person or video call interviews with shortlisted candidates.
    • Prepare hiring forecasts as part of the University's strategic planning
    • Document processes and fostering good relationships with potential candidates and past applicants.
    • Develop hiring strategies and procedures in line with industry trends, as well as keeping informed of advancements in the field.
    • Develop and maintain system for ensuring job descriptions are up-to-date.
    • Serve internal search committee
    • Assist with developing a diversity, equity and inclusion plan for recruitment
    • Assist with promoting diversity within the University by developing training programs to enhance employee understanding.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications (Education, Education, and Specialized Training)

    The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job

    Knowledge of:

    • Methods and techniques of online applicant tracking system such as PeopleAdmin, and Interview Exchange
    • Principles and practices of budget preparation and administration
    • Advanced principles of training
    • Principles and techniques of report preparation
    • Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations governing human resources management

    Ability to:

    • Oversee and participate in the management of a comprehensive human resources management applicant tracking system and training and development system.
    • Oversee, direct and coordinate the work of human resources staff.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    • Prepare and deliver oral presentations to the President's Cabinet, employee organizations, and community groups.
    • Interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, law and regulations.
    • Research, analyze, and evaluate and recommend new service delivery methods and techniques.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

    Education/Training:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field from an accredited college or university
    • Must hold an active Human Resources Certification from HRCI or SHRM

    Experience:

    • At least five years of work experience in talent acquisition
    • At least one year of work experience involving diversity, equity and inclusion
    • At least two years of work experience in employee training and learning system
    • Some experience in high education setting
