Job Description
Our client is seeking a Tape Edge Operator to work in their Grand Prairie, TX facility. Contract to hire position.
Summary: Upon achieving permanent status, employees will have the opportunity to join Health, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurance on the first of the month following date of hire. 10 Paid holidays, vacation, sick pay, and 401k employer match.
Responsibilities of the Tape Edge Operator:
- Operates the tape edge machine joining mattress panel to border, positioning mattress on table, and feeding material to be sewn.
- Assembles mattress units per established instructions using a variety of pneumatic tools (c-ring, staple guns, and hot glue guns)
- Re-threads sewing machine as needed
- Corrects any defective taping on mattress
- Changes needle and binding tape for the sewing machine as needed
- Makes necessary machine adjustments, and performs basic machine maintenance
- Motivated, excellent work ethics, and desire to learn
- Mechanically inclined in any type of operating machines or sewing machines a plus
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to read work instructions
- Ability to stand for 8.0 hours or more
- Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 100 lbs.
- Good eye/hand coordination
- Attendance & Punctuality: ability to work a consistent 40-hour work week with minimal absences, tardy or need to leave early.
- Over-time: Ability to consistently work extended hours and Saturdays as needed
Pay: $23.50 per hour
