General Duties:
• Proficient in framing different types of walls including but not limited to: pony walls, free standing walls, under grid walls; while maintaining minimal waste and minimizes headers.
• Frames heavy gauge walls and fur downs, including structural ceilings,
• Follows layout lines on the floor, and stud spacing per drawings and specifications.
• Installs shaft walls and ensures joints are staggered and openings are framed per requirements.
• Demonstrates ability to properly install “top-out”.
• Performs most drywall ceiling installations and ensures ceiling is at the right elevation and all wires are properly tied to grid system.
• Frames fur downs with good quality and minimal waste, and checks drywall extends above finished floor per drawings/specifications.
• Installs wood and metal backing and follows lay out for backing.
• Properly installs hollow metal doors and window frames and ensures plumb, level, and square.
• Properly installs under grid head track, and ensures track is straight and joints align.
• Competent to perform simple lay out, basic walls, and fur downs.
• Measures, cuts, and installs fiberglass insulation to fit into walls, ceilings and around pipes. Fastening with tape, screws, staples, or fasteners as needed.
• Demonstrates an awareness of department/project production goals and tracks daily production.
• Ensures safety is the number one priority for themselves and others by following MAREK safety policies.
• Able to work different schedules in varying location as needed per management/production needs.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
Advanced Skills:
• Performs most framing including heavy gauge framing with little supervision and consistently exceeding quotas.
• Installation of frame fur downs, shaft wall installations, top out performance, and/or drywall ceiling installation with little supervision while consistently exceeding expectations.
• Installation of hollow and metal backing, doors and window frames with minimal supervision while consistently exceeding quotas.
• Under grid head track installation with hardly any supervision consistently surpassing quota.
• Expertise working with detailed blueprints, identifying details, wall types, ceiling types and heights and other potential conflicts.
• Competently installs most glass metal frames.
• Experience installing glass reinforced /glass fiber reinforced products.
• Proficient in installing a variety of doors and hardware, including hinges, lock sets and standard closures.
• Expertise in framing of vault ceilings, wave designs, elliptical designs with coves and jigs and integrated systems, structural designs for plaster ceilings and metal panel ceilings.
