Our client is a small, vertically integrated manufacturer with two locations, one in Indiana, and the other in Colorado. Our client manufactures three distinct product lines in a low volume/high mix environment: Included are industrial ventilation products for a variety of industries including aircraft, military and HVAC. Reporting to the Controller your responsibilities will be focused on Payroll and Accounts Payable, and General Accounting. You may also have some exposure to cost accounting.
As Accountant your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accurate and current database for payroll
- Preparing and transmitting payroll data for under 100 employees in an accurate and timely to outside Payroll Service
- Preparing monthly journal vouchers and reports
- Preparing and transmitting 401K reporting to external vendor
- Preparing accounts payable invoices for processing
- Preparing and scanning daily check deposit
- Balancing general ledger accounts related to A/P and appropriate accruals
- Controlling fixed asset inventory list
- Preparing and filing State Sales Tax returns, Property Tax returns and processes Income Tax filings and processing Income Tax filings and payments
- Filing the necessary 1099 forms for vendors on a yearly basis
- Preparing assigned journal entries and account reconciliations
- Performing required accounts receivable duties on an intermittent basis to allow for full backup capabilities as needed
- Preparing required information for year-end audit
As Accountant your background should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. An Associate's degree will also be considered with additional experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience with solid payroll processing experience including experience with outside payroll provider
- Experience in A/P and general accounting. Cost accounting experience a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of MAS200 a plus
- Strong in identifying and solving problems
- Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness
