Basic Function: Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant is responsible for month-end close, cash management, general ledger account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, A/P, A/R, audit preparation, and other related accounting operations as assigned.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support the business unit through the preparation, analysis, and explanation of the business unit’s monthly income statement data.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure financial statements are supported by both proper and sufficient documentation.
- Verify that new and existing part numbers are costed accurately and on a timely basis.
- Monitor the business unit’s perpetual inventory record balances and reconcile them to the general ledger on a monthly basis; troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Participate in semiannual physical inventory.
- Complete day to day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and fixed assets monitoring as assigned.
- Provide analytical support and reconcile variances.
- Be proficient in all corporate financial policies and procedures and ensure adherence.
- Complete consolidation reports for parent company in Japan.
- Responsible for ensuring all journal entries are completed accurately and timely to meet all month-end close due dates.
- Support the annual financial audit.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 1 years of general accounting experience is preferred.
- Ability to resolve issues/conflicts in a timely manner.
- A team player who is also able to function under minimal supervision.
- Strong computer, oral, and written communication skills is required (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Proven track record of dependability, strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, effective listening skills, and approachability.
