Join the group providing finance and accounting support to OTO's growing hospitality development and hotel operations businesses.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Calculation and filing of Sales and Use Tax returns for multiple entities in multiple states.
- Tracking and payment of Property Taxes for multiple properties in multiple states
- Calculation and filing of Occupancy Tax returns for operating hotels under the company’s management.
- Calculation and filing of other taxes as needed, gross receipts tax, excise tax, business & occupation tax.
- Researching tax issues resulting from collection rate and exemption allowance discrepancies.
- Interpreting and complying with state and local statutes, regulations, and legislation.
- Providing guidance to Tax Accountant and Hotel Management based on research of tax laws and regulations.
- Manage and validate exemption certificates.
- Preparing for, and assisting with, sales and use tax audits.
- Maintain and update our tax service setup to ensure compliance with applicable state and local tax laws.
- Evaluate processes and procedures to increase efficiency and tax compliance.
- Assisting with the reconciliation of tax-related general ledger accounts.
Job Requirements
The selected candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other four-year degree with equivalent accounting experience.
- Required minimum of 2 years accounting and/or sales and use tax experience.
- Preferred 4 or more years’ experience in accounting with tax filing
- Strong computer technical skills, including MS Excel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with a multi-state, multi-unit environment.
- Strong ability to meet deadlines
