Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join our legal team. As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal support and assistance to our clients and senior Attorneys. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual with a passion for law to develop their skills and contribute to our firm's success. Our firm provides a wide variety of legal services to clients from contracts and commercial disputes to business advice and employment litigation. However, our firm does not practice in the areas of family, matrimonial, immigration, or criminal matters.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw to support case preparation and litigation strategies
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements
- Assist with legal administrative tasks such as organizing case files, maintaining calendars, and managing correspondence
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide recommendations
- Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and other legal proceedings
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for cases
- Prepare legal briefs and memoranda to support arguments in court
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact client cases
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school (or J.D. expected Spring 2024)
- Admitted to practice law in New Jersey (additional admission in New York preferred), will consider applicants with pending admissions.
- Knowledge of legal principles, procedures, and practices
- Proficient in conducting legal research using Westlaw
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
