Tax Attorney acts as organization's representation in dealing with local, state, and federal taxing agencies. Responsible for developing tax saving plans and preparing legal documents involving liabilities. Being a Tax Attorney offers counsel on the impact of tax laws and preparation of tax activities. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Additionally, Tax Attorney requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Tax Attorney work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Tax Attorney typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. - Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports
- Draft discovery and respond to discovery
- Draft and respond to discovery related motions
- Regularly attend court appearances
- Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses
- Draft various motions
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Admitted to practice in the State of California
- 1-7 years of Workers' Compensation defense experience preferred but not required
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent research abilities and written and oral communication skills
