Tax Director directs and oversees an organization's tax policies and objectives. Monitors reporting and planning to ensure compliance with applicable tax statutes. Being a Tax Director ensures accuracy of tax returns and works to minimize the organization's tax obligations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Tax Director typically reports to top management. The Tax Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients throughout the tax preparation process
- Utilize accounting software to accurately input and calculate financial data
- Stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Assist with tax planning and strategies for clients
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of tax returns
- Maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Tax Preparer or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts and accounting principles
- Proficiency in using accounting software, such as Sage or QuickBooks
- Familiarity with market trends and changes in tax laws
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate complex tax concepts to clients
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting is a plus
- Typing speed of at least 10 key strokes per minute
