Tax Director – Corporate Tax

What You will Do:

•  Provide leadership and guidance to the tax team, fostering a high performing environment including employee development and learning.
• Generate value by minimizing the companies’ tax obligations through active tax planning including staying current on tax law and regulation changes to understand impact on companies.
• Ensure companies comply with all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Direct tax functions including research and resolution of tax issues, tax planning, financial statement tax provisions, and timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local tax filings.
• Build and maintain relationships with external tax advisors, outsource partners, auditors, and constituents throughout the companies to facilitate communication and collaboration.
• Oversee accurate and timely filings of miscellaneous tax returns including premium tax, sales & use tax, personal property tax, and information reporting.
• Partner with internal business units on tax strategies and to proactively identify issues.
• Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the Tax Department.
• Effectively communicate tax ideas and concepts throughout the organization including senior management.
• Coordinate necessary controls and related documentation.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

•  Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance preferred) with at least 8 years of relevant experience preferred.
•  Leadership experience required.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Public accounting experience a plus.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and capable of dealing with all levels of employees as well as outside professionals.
• Highly motivated results-oriented individual possessing critical analytical and decision- making skills.
• Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
• Ability to direct a team of professionals to meet target dates including highly visible deliverables.
• Must have progressive and diversified experience in taxation and substantial experience with corporate and transactional tax planning.
