Tax Director directs and oversees an organization's tax policies and objectives. Monitors reporting and planning to ensure compliance with applicable tax statutes. Being a Tax Director ensures accuracy of tax returns and works to minimize the organization's tax obligations. Requires a bachelor's degree. This position will report to the Senior Tax Director and will be responsible for the timely filing of federal, state, local, and foreign income tax returns, including all related analysis and support. It will also evaluate, recommend, and implement tax strategies for pursuing various tax incentives and credits, and will manage and coordinate federal, state, local, and foreign income tax audits, including managing relationships with external tax authorities. The position will be based in our corporate office in Siloam Springs, AR.
Tax Compliance. This position will be responsible for the completion of federal, state, local, and international corporate, partnership, trust and individual tax returns, including all related analysis and support.
Tax Audits. This position will participate in the management and coordination of federal, state, local, and international audits including the management of the relationships with external tax authorities and evaluation of proposed assessments.
Tax Strategies. This position will assist and oversee the pursuit of various tax incentives and credits at the federal, state, local, and international levels.
Communication. This position requires a team player who will act as liaison with operating management on tax issues, accounting staff on tax accounting issues, and with IT staff on technical matters related to tax software and applications.
Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. This role will also participate in areas other than income tax such as indirect tax, foreign withholding taxes, and any other initiative to help the company achieve its financial goals and minimize tax risk.
Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. May present information to small or large groups.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by the visited facility.
Travel: Occasional travel required for annual conferences, continuing education, and travel to company locations.
Technical Experience: 5-9 years of tax compliance experience in corporate, partnership, trust, and individual taxation. In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and tax laws. Experience evaluating tax law/legislation and developing tax savings strategies. Ability to communicate sophisticated tax concepts in ways that are meaningful to non-tax professionals. Must demonstrate the ability to work in a hands-on, team driven environment. Experience with CCH ProSystem and Pro-Ware Asset Keeper a plus. Strong computer skills (utilizing MS Excel, WORD, and PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software applications.
Industry Experience: Food manufacturing experience preferred.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance from an accredited college.
Preferred Education: CPA or Masters in Tax
