At Jones Tax and Bookkeeping we are a small, very family-oriented office and we are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team. Located in Nahunta, we provide a full range of tax and bookkeeping services to Brantley and all the surrounding counties.
Responsibilities:
· Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations with integrity, quality, and consistency.
· Build relationships and interact with clients through face-to-face interviews, phone calls, and email.
· Prepare, review, troubleshoot, and file federal and state income taxes for individuals and businesses.
· Assist in tax audits, tax notices, and anything related to tax returns.
· Provide clients with correct and sufficient tax advice.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest level of customer service
· Organized
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience preparing tax returns
· Capable of multitasking, problem solving, and completing projects before deadline dates
· Understands the need for urgency in meeting deadlines and embraces personal accountability
· Able to work unsupervised
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Able to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends during tax season
· Experience with tax software
· Analytical skills with attention to detail
· Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration
· Mentor and support teammates
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Drake software
· 3 or more years’ experience with Schedule C’s, Rental properties, and Farming
· Experience in bookkeeping
· Experience with QuickBooks

Position Status:
· Full time during tax season and part time during the off-season, off-season schedule can be flexible
· Pay based on experience
