Being a Tax Director ensures accuracy of tax returns and works to minimize the organization's tax obligations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Tax Director typically reports to top management. The Tax Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Tax Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. The Director will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of contractor engagement, from selection and onboarding to performance assessment and strategic alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management and Strategy
- Develop and implement strategies for managing a diverse portfolio of defense contractors.
- Ensure alignment of contractor activities with organizational objectives and defense requirements.
- Contractor Selection and Onboarding
- Lead the process of selecting defense contractors that meet specific project and operational needs.
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure contractors are fully integrated into relevant projects and initiatives.
- Performance Management
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of defense contractors against contractual obligations and organizational goals.
- Implement performance improvement plans and corrective actions as needed.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including military leadership, government officials, and defense industry leaders.
- Facilitate collaboration between defense contractors and internal teams to ensure project success and innovation.
- Budget and Resource Allocation
- Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and financial performance of the contractor portfolio.
- Ensure cost-effective management of contractor resources and alignment with financial objectives.
- Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with contractor engagements.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in all contractor-related activities.
- Strategic Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership to the contractor management team.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in contractor management processes and practices.
- Communication and Reporting
- Maintain clear and effective communication channels with all stakeholders.
- Generate comprehensive reports on portfolio performance, challenges, and strategic opportunities.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications- Top Secret/SCI Clearance
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a field applicable to the Director role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the defense industry and its regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to strategize, implement, and oversee complex projects.
