Tax Manager is responsible for managing the tax accounting staff and the tax planning, reporting, and compliance functions. Oversees the preparation of all tax filings and reporting in compliance with all required regulations. Being a Tax Manager evaluates the tax implications of company activities and develops strategies to minimize the tax obligations. Advises management on future changes to tax regulations and possible impact to the organization. Additionally, Tax Manager may manage and direct relationships with vendors and advisors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to Tax Director or Top Tax Executive. The Tax Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for the research and delivery of memos regarding various tax issues concerning new regulations and other complex topics. We expect this individual to be open in sharing their knowledge with their team and leadership to show good judgment in a manner that best serves clients’ needs and is reflective of our Firm’s values.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of general economic and political trends along with tax and other legislation that could affect the business climate.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe
2. Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise
3. Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax return
4. Identify and mitigate tax risks
5. Coordinate tax staff and assess their performance
6. Manage tax provision and tax compliance processes
7. Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices
8. Manage and coordinate tax audits
9. Strong organization and follow-up skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitments.
10. Research and delivery of memos regarding various tax issues concerning new regulations and other complex topics.
Requirements
Qualifications
1. Generally, a minimum of 7 years of current tax experience within a public accounting firm with demonstrated supervisory experience.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
3. Participates in career development programs to improve supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. A current and valid CPA license is required
