Tax Research Manager manages the tax research and planning functions of an organization. Researches tax regulation implications on the organization. Being a Tax Research Manager analyzes tax data to help minimize tax cost and comply with all present and future regulatory requirements. May have a legal background in tax regulation. Additionally, Tax Research Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director or top executive. The Tax Research Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Tax Research Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.
