Tax Supervisor jobs in Gastonia, NC
Tax Supervisor is responsible for supervising the tax reporting, tax planning, and compliance function. Supervises the completion of accurate tax returns in order to minimize the tax obligations of an organization. Being a Tax Supervisor must be familiar with regulations at the federal, state and local level. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Tax Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Tax Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Tax Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Identify and implement tax planning strategies for clients
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, addressing their tax-related questions and concerns
- Utilize accounting software, such as Sage, to accurately prepare tax returns
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and client satisfactionRequirements:
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform complex calculations
- Knowledge of corporate accounting principles and financial concepts
- Previous experience in public accounting or related field preferred
- Proficient in using 10-key typing for data entry
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing tax returns
